Default Passenger Door Seat Control Board

Hi!

2010 XK Coupe here!

So I noticed that the passenger door lights where the seat controls are, were out. I assumed maybe it was a small light that needs to be replaced but turns out it's a bunch of LEDs that are attached directly to the circuit. I'm assuming that the entire board is dead. Has anyone experienced this and can help walk me through the steps at correcting the problem?

Thanks!

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but, as a former electronics tech, your chances for repair are slim. If a careful visual inspection using a magnifying glass and good light doesn't show a crack or burning somewhere and the connections are good, you will need specialized test equipment and a schematic to figure it out. The probability is that one of the thousands of semiconductors grown on one of the IC chips died and the chip needs replaced. That also requires special equipment. Best bet is a salvage yard swap.Good luck.

The seat control panels are available on eBay, but are not all that cheap:

This one is a lot cheaper and from the older model:

It is worth inspecting the original closely - if it's just the track that has burned out for some reason it's easy enough to repair. If it's one of the thousands of individual bits, as Don-T says, the only way forward is a replacement. Or, since it's the passenger side anyway, just ignore it

Thanks everyone! My car only has 12,000 miles on it and it's like brand new, so it's worth repairing. The part is 260 here in the US so it's a bit cheaper on Ebay however, once you add exchange rate and shipping, might as well just get the part from the dealer and toss it on in case I have issues I can point back to them.

Will inspect the bits later and see if anything.

Are you certain it’s the board that’s the issue... that’s quite peculiar.
Id be checking power to the door, connector first.
