Default PCV Hose and Engine Stall

Hi,

Recently checking for a coolant leak I burned the PCV hose, having driven the car about 20 km for pre booked appointment to change the wheel sensors it stalled at the lights and would not restart. Immediately before the engine started making a tickling time of sound on light acceleration as if the timing was out or it engine was heavy worn. Having examined the PCV more carful whilst waiting for the tow truck their did not appear to be any moisture/oil around the damaged area of this. It may be the case that the PCV is now blocked as opposed to having a hole in it. A couple of hours after having it towed home the car did restart (just) and then idle. Using a scanning tool and I pad whilst I was driving the vehicle the temperature of the coolant and engine seemed normal at around 120 C.

Could the blocked PCV caused the above issues as pressure build-up in the sump, could this pressure of dropped over the cause of a couple of hours and thus result in the car being able to be restarted.

1. Please include you year/model in the post or preferably in your signature so people know what engine you have.
2. 120 C (248 F) does NOT seem normal.
3. A hole in the PCV hose will cause a vacuum leak and lean condition which coupled with a coolant leak will really do some damage. You shouldn't be driving till you straighten this out.
4. A blocked PCV hose/valve should throw a code. Take a look at the breather system in the repair manual to see how it works. There is 1 valve but more than 1 breather hose.
