Pre and Post 2010 rims difference - just validating
OK, so in my efforts to swap out my wheels i'm doing some digging and just need my brain confirmed by all the experts on this.
From what I've read, in 2011 Jaguar increased the rear offest by +15mm (from 25mm to 40mm). So you could use a Pre-2011 XK/XKR rim on a +2011 XK/XKR with a spacer but you can't go the other way around, can't put a 2011+ rim on a Pre-2011? Correct??
Thanks!

If the engine is a 5.0 then it has an "e-diff". If it has the e-diff then it has the higher offset wheels. So yes, you could use the newer wheels on an older car with spacers but not the other way around.
@CleverName seems to be right. Manual states only the supercharged cars have e-diff. So I guess I’m back to my original question.
i think i'm back-asswards.
Since they increased the wheel offset in 2011 by 15mm, using a spacer would essential subtract from the offset meaning a 2011 wheel would work on a 2008 XKR with a 15-20mm spacer on it. But can't go they other way around. truth??

Thats correct. The earlier wheels will stick out too far because the e-diff is longer than the standard open diff in the earlier cars.
