Queens English Car Show
Is anyone going to be displaying or attending the Queens English Car Show at Woodley Park in Van Nuys next Sunday. Last year there were probably 150 cars with everything from Singers to MGs to Astons to Jaguars to Rolls....Jay Leno stopped by with one of his project cars as well. Got to meet about half a dozen Jaguar Forum members from all over Southern California. With the weather so warm, it should be a great turnout.

I registered for the Queens English Car Show after I saw your posting yesterday. If I go, which right now is about 3/1 yes, I plan to get there around 11 and stay through lunch before heading back to the west L A area. What car(s) will you have there? I'll look you up. By the way my 12 vert has the license plate RWG 1O, is Midnight Black, has a caramel interior with an Adamesh wind deflector. If the weather is at all decent I will probably have the top down.

Ralphwg,
I will be there early in my 2002 XKR convertible-Carnival Red over black. George (Tirefriar) sold his XJR but is coming anyway, probably in his Alfa Berlinetta. Doug (Seismic Guy) has a charcoal XKR convertible. It's just a fun day with great cars, new and old. No doubt, Jay Leno will show up in one of his collectibles. We look forward to saying hello, in person.

Ralphwg and DGL,
I like both series a lot. The classicism of the first series, the elegance and brawniness of the current series. I guess that's why I couldn't resist and have a 5L 2010 XKR coupe "in the oven." Should have it complete with some modifications in the next month. It will make it to next year's Queen's English Car Show.
See you on Sunday.

If your a Brit car fan this event is a must see. I have been attending this show for several years. Hundreds of cars. I saw Jay Leno there & he was talking to a guy with an xke & he was talking about a white e-type he just bought from the original owner. (This car was later featured on his car program). Leno always shows up in something cool. One year he had a McLaren. The show is free to attend & I think $20 to show a car. Get there early-I notice 1/2 the cars were gone around 1pm. There are a few vendors, food & some Brit bikes as well.

Queen's English Car Show was terrific. There were many more attendees and cars, this year. Several forum members were in attendance including Ralphwg, SeismicGuy (Doug), Tirefriar (George) and me (Ted). Beautiful cars (probably 200+), beautiful day. Here are some photos but there are many more posted on the 1996-2006 XK8/XKR page under Queen's English Car Show.
