Default Quiet tires

I recently purchased my 2008 XK and love it. I have started to notice the road noise from my Yokahama tires. I am looking to replace them with a tire that does not generate so much road noise. I am of an age where testosterone poisoning is not that much of an issue. Consequently, I do not push the car as hard as I would have 30 or 40 years ago. Is there a "quiet" tire out there?

I have Hankook Ventus tires and I don't notice road noise at all in my 'vert. Others have said they have the same tires and the noise is horrible.

Dunno, man.

Go to Tire Rack and check out the user reviews of the various tires that fit your 2008 XK.

I have Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires on my XKR and don't notice any tire noise. But with the top down, exhaust fuse 19 pulled, and paddle shifting, how could I?

Seriously, I suggest that you look at the Continental DWS06 tire. I have them on my XJ and don't notice any tire noise. They're a good value, especially when on sale. Compare prices from Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct.

Hankook Ventus also, they have been great. Getting down to the lower end of the wear on them, very close to the wear bar but now quite, and they are still are quiet. I have had some tires that get VERY noisy when the tread gets into that lower percentage of life.

have had older hankook ventus variants on other cars, and i think i've echoed the sentiment here on the forum before: they are a great tire. the v12 evo2 has a good middle-of-the-road treadwear rating of 320.

just finished off a set of continental extremecontact dws -- the older version of the dws06. these are certainly quiet, but they are a way harder tire clocking in north of 500. mine were just old enough, and had a rough winter, and basically had lost all useful traction despite having plenty of tread depth left. i had them about two years and 10k miles, and spirited driving was already getting squirrelly.

now i have a set of yokohama advan apex v601 tires on the XK. these have a treadwear rating of 280 and probably won't last long. so far i'm happy with them, but it's too soon to recommend i think.

I've had the Hankooks and found they were so noisy I had to prematurely get rid of them. Probably the quietest I've had on my XKR are the Nexens, a very inexpensive tire that I've had on both my X100 vert and my X150 coupe.

I am convinced that the Michelin PS4's are the best all around tires for our vehicles. good adhesion, smooth ride, and not too much noise and a decent wear factor, 18-20k miles.
