Radio activation code

Radio activation code
Hi,
Having just upgraded from a 2004 XKR to a 2008 XKR & checking through all the paperwork & documents I suddenly realised I have no code to reactivate the radio after battery disconnection as I did with my previous X100.
I can find no mention of it in the handbook so do I need one in the UK, if so how do I go about getting it.
Thanks for your assistance.

ACTUALLY, isn't the .... I'm guessing here, the TSD is the display FOR the 'radio', but isn't it controlled by something else? Wouldn't that 'sound module' or whatever have a VIN in the firmware? I don't know, so I ask. Course if the TSD actually IS the sound system, I guess there isn't any code. I've never thought about it before.

Any consideration of programming replacement components for compatabilty is a completely different topic not relevant to the theft deterrent purpose of radio security codes.

I thought I'd made it clear in post #2 seven years ago but I'll repeat that the X150 audio system does NOT have a radio security code for owner input after a battery disconnect/reconnect.

I was concerned about needing a radio code in the case of power interruption when replacing the battery.
I am planning on using a NOCO Genius 10 in 12v supply mode (not charge mode) to supply power to the car during the battery change. Either that or I will use another battery to power the car.
Thank you for the clarification.

X150 is the Factory Code for the 2006-2014 XK model.
We use the Factory Codes on the forum to distinguish between similar named models. For example, XKR could be the earlier steel bodied 1996-2006 XKR (Factory Code X100) or the later aluminium bodied 2006-2014 XKR model.
The XJ badge is even more confusing with five different models produced between 1968 and 2019!

Worth a slight diversion from the topic to explain this model naming convention.
