Default Rear Bumper/Diffuser 2012 XK

I spotted a custom(?) bumper cover on a 12 coupe in a parking lot in Westlake Village, CA on Tuesday. See Photos, does anybody know anything about this bumper/diffuser

Reminds me of jaguar's special edition xk60

Also on closer inspection it looks to be a 4.2L based on the fact of having the older style xk badge

It also has the big vertical gills, not sure whether any 5.0L cars had those?

The first series of 5l had the vertical grilles and bug eye lenses.

In 2012 this was revised for the horizontal side grille and newer style led headlights.

Having said all of that I'm backing it's a 4.2 with upgraded tail lights

Not a big fan of it. Makes the back end big, not in a good way.

I do like the tag though.

Was there a change in XK badge from 4.2 to 5.0?

I think the XK badge changed in 2012 with the face lift... Someone correct me if I'm wrong... . I'm still confused about the license plate, XK8 plate on an XK150?

The tail lights look to be the LED lights. I'm not sure when Jaguar started with the LED's was it 09 or 10? Too bad i couldn't get to the front to see the side grilles. Also, the plate may have come from an X100 or the XK ROX was unavailable.

LED tail lights began with the 2010 (US) 5.0L models. Many 4.2L owners have modified their cars by installing the newer style LED tail lights.

That is indeed a factory optioned rear valance, updated from the xk60 after 2010. I know because I considered it, among others, before settling on the R-S 3-piece version. It was also listed in one of the accessories books from Jaguar.

I agree it adds too much bulk to the naturally svelte rear.

As I recall there was an X100 rear bumper that encompassed the exhaust in the same manner from one of the aftermarket sources. After 5 years of looking at it, I still like the F/X rear bumper/diffuser that I installed on my car shortly after I bought it.

You’re probably thinking of the paragondesignuk.com version. They have several body pieces to make a X100 look sort of like a X150.
