Default Rear license plate mount

I have been running without plates on my XKR now for several months, just the little paper sticker in the windshield. I finally got around to ordering some nice license plate frames. I am going to run without a front plate until it gets to be too big of a PITA as far as tickets go.

My question is, does the rear plate have a mounting bracket or does it just screw directly into the rear body. The front plate has a mounting bracket and I'm wondering if I am missing a mount for the rear. It came with a dealer add plate screwed directly into the rear mount holes in the body. I'm not sure exactly what to do with the frames as far as mounting. Have any of you had this problem or am I making it a problem. The frames came with flat head stainless allen screws and the frames holes are countersunk. I'd like to use the screws with the frames.

Front looks great without a plate, the rear, not so much!

Thanks

Ok, so maybe its a UK versus US thing I'm not sure, but......

Why don't you try the stick on plate just itself?

I've used 3M doube sided tape for years as used on bodyside mouldings..........
I've had my plates stuck on front n rear on my cars for years now for a really clean look, no screws / fixings, no screw covers to match the colour of the plate etc, just a very clean look.

Because on the Jag there is an emergency keyhole behind the rear numberplate that you can use if the battery is flat. With the stick-on plate you can just about pull part of it away to get at the keyhole but it may not stick back again.

It screws directly into the body. I went ahead and used a couple of small strips of the self sticking soft side of velcro to keep the plate from rattling.

Also, the keyhole for the U.S. cars is to the side of the plate as our plates are narrower and taller.

Personally I do not understand the fascination with number plate frames. I have put my plate in a reversed black plastic frame just to isolate the plate from the body, but I might give Rahtok's solution a try.
