Rear luggage cover
I'm almost straightened out with my "new" 2011. Last issue is the detachable luggage cover. The car came with one missing rear clip. I ordered 2 from Gaudin. No matter what I did, the clips wouldn't hold for more than 1 or 2 trunk opens. The last time, the cover came off as I was closing, and broke the clip I replaced. I still have the extra one I ordered.
I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow for my last warranty service, will try to get them to fix under warranty. If they don't, I'll need to do it myself. I am thinking of getting some rare earth magnets and doing some slight modding. Anyone try this or other ideas? Seems like a pretty bad original design.

My cover is holding fine (07) after I fiddled with them; but you are right very poor design (sort of thing the Guys across the channel like to do).
Button magnets is the way to go................... I've used them on my gas fireplace door; work every time.
Good Luck, Adrian

I had the same problem where it wouldn't stay attached more than one or two times when closing the trunk. I found that the clips actually unscrew a bit ( the part that plugs into the hole) when you turn them, and this extends them into the cavity a bit more when the clip is pushed down. There is then more expansion behind the hole and it will grab much more securely. Ever since I did that about 8 months ago, I've had virtually no problems.

The clips were OK - it was the rubber inserts (arrowed in red) in the tailgate holding the cover locating pins that wear. This releases the tension holding the clips into their rubber inserts and the cover drops down.

I replaced the four rubber inserts and two clips and have had no repeat of the issue in over a year.

I cleaned my back window the other day and removed the cover to get access to the window inside. When reinstalling the cover I noticed the rubber inserts would push in when inserting the cover tabs. If the rubber inserts are not completely covering the tabs when tabs are inserted the holding strength will be compromised. I wetted the rubber tabs with water to reduce the friction when inserting the tabs so they would slide in easier. When the water dries shortly after installing the cover there should be sufficient grip to hold the cover in place. This could be part of the problem--the rubber inserts need to fully hold the tabs and not be pushed in when re-installing. I agree this is a poor design.
I have a 2011 XKR coupe, and the luggage cover latches (and the pins at the rear of the cover) are looking and acting sketchy. Does anyone know where you can buy replacements?
Have you tried a dealer?
I got my replacement latch from S.N.G Barrett part C2P19092, which is the upper latch. Search their site for the "lower" locks you need.
There is a thread here which I found helpful:

Thank you, Tracee! I searched for hours yesterday, trying to find these latches - or any reference to the luggage cover and the fasteners it requires. Can you tell me what category Barratt (or Jaguar, for that matter) places this assembly under?
Redlanner: I also spent hours poring through Barretts catalogue as you did, and getting nowhere. I finally got the number for the part I needed only from the posting sent above. So don't know what category it'd fall under. Numbing with how many thousands of bits to into our cars...
It's incredibly mind-numbing! I had been searching for cargo or luggage cover or screen bits. But it's not called a cargo or luggage cover or screen. It's called a
"Rear Parcel Shelf - Tilting." Of course it is. Despite the fact that it's not a "shelf" in any sense that we'd imagine - or at least a shelf that you would or could put anything on. Anyway, once you know what it's called, you can find those bits anywhere! Thanks for your help, Tracee.
