Default Rear View Mirror Back Up Camera Display?

Is it an option to have the back up camera display shown in the rear view mirror?
Or is the car capable of toggling back and fourth between the regular display and the rear view mirror?

I could ask what year XK you have, but you should have put that on your post, and even better on a signature.
I could LOOK, but I'm too lazy and also I shouldn't have to look.
If you have a 2007-2009, you need a Costco add-on plate and screen.
If you have a 2010-2011, you can add the factory option with a little bit of work.
If you have a 2011-2015, you already have a camera.
You could also get a mega-screen and have everything (except CD player)>
You just have to search the forums. LOTS of threads already on all of this.

FH,
What do you need a backup camera for? During my 2 trips to the islands, NONE of the locals ever looked before backing up! You must not be a local! They barely looked when going forward! It was crazy, as we were on motorcycles much of the time.

LOL! I must be the exception!
To clarify, the car is a 2011.
I'm still trying to get a handle on a potential purchase and trying to make sure everything is as it should be.
I actually think the current owner installed a pretty trick rear view camera which shows up in the rear view mirror rather than the display in the console. It's very clear and comes on as soon as you throw the car in reverse.

So that aftermarket rear view mirror likely doesn’t drive the dimming for the side mirrors. If you like the car, buy it. Ask if he still has the OEM mirror, just in case you want to revert at some time later.

Good point. That would kinda be a bummer!
I definitely will check to see if the original mirror is still available.

Without a backup camera, how would a fuzzy hippo be able to see anything behind his rear end?

A day without a good laugh ...

Is like what happened to the lady who walked into the butcher shop and accidentally backed into the meat slicer. Disaster.
Didn't get it? Dis-as-ter!

If you thought that was bad, the butcher got a little behind in his orders!

All because of a hippo's rear end!
