Apple guy...

surfing and searching today; what are the benefits to the PLX Kiwi 2+ and 3 over the cheap elm327 (wifi version) and an app(s) downloaded from iPhone app store? Big price difference.
Am I missing something?

thanks

Default clear Airbag codes

I know for a fact that my standard ODBC II reader will not clear the Airbag code, and, I had to go to the dealer for them to clear the code...will the I90 clear the airbag code if need be?? I rather purchase a I90 for the same amount as an hour rate at the dealer.. any information is great appreciated.

Default carsoft I930

FYI. I took the chance and purchased the Carsoft I930 to reset my airbag light. I know in the past that a low battery issue in my xk will sometimes trigger the airbag light, and the last time this happened I could not clear the code without having the dealer clear it for me which cost around an hour's worth of money..so I took the chance and purchased a I930 from Amazon and was able to clear the airbag warning light very easily. actually it found that my satellite antenna was also throwing a code as bad..which clears up the reason why I cant get satellite radio!!

Default Success with Veepeak ELM 327 2013 XK

Hi all.

Just wanted to share that i picked up a Veepeak ELM 327 OBD unit and had good success scanning and reading info on my 2013xk. I posted the details in the General Tech Help forum link below which includes info returned from the Torque Pro app (post #497):
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...-%2A%2A-33347/

Hope this helps those considering a bluetooth OBD unit.

I develop apps for a living. There is little if anything that I can find out about my customers. Just because google asks for permission to do things doesnt mean the developer can access it. I would be more worried about your Facebook account.

I have a question for the forum. Those of you that use the bluetooth devices, does your agreement for the app grant access of your android to the vendor?

I don't download any apps on my phone because any that I've been interested in want data mining rights. contact info etc...

I don't use my cell for any transactions so I'm not concerned about hacking, just don't like other people minding my business. Feels like one of those Progressive insurance OBD II dongles that monitor your driving habits.

OK maybe a tad paranoid but I'd like to read your thoughts.

I do not want a Bluetooth or Wifi version, I want a cheap in-car version with screen which tells me water and oil temperature. Is this possible?

Google "OBDII gauges" and you will find some out there that you plug a cable into your OBDII port and it has a gauge on the other end of the wire which you can have water temp and voltage .

I don't remember if even Torque has oil temperature...... don't think it does.

Hm, thought so. Well, if it gives water temperature and voltage, it is worth it. Thanks!

Is there an OBD for I-PACE? What can it be used for on an EV?

I just ordered this scan tool a week or two ago and it worked perfect with my 01XKR and Android phone. Thanks for the advice.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe our cars have an oil temp sensor.

I have an ELM 327 connected to the Torque Pro app, and it doesn't show oil temp.

My OBD dongle reports sump temperature and oil temperature on my 10 XKR (see attached)

It is also shown in the workshop manual:

Interesting. In Torque Pro it's not available.

You can probably add it if you can figure the PID etc.

It's already been done for you guys with 2010 onward. You just need to apply it:

Software is on a virtual machine and installs on a Windows laptop. For X150 does everything the factory unit does including subroutines to reset windows, seats etc.

I bought one of these a few months ago, and just yesterday I learned that I can read EVERYTHING with it (thanks u102768). Today I was driving around reading my oil temp and oil level in real time. Unfortunately, it has to read through every module before it will give you real time info, and that takes about 3-4 minutes. But once it's done, you can see live data from every module in the car.
