Default Red front grill badge and red center wheel caps

I apologize for bringing up an older topic....I happened to notice a later model white XK Coupe (not an XKR) parked locally with a red front grill emblem as well as red center caps on the wheels. I'm not sure of the model year but it had the horizontal front fender vents and rear Jaguar leaper. I remember there was a older thread discussing how to upgrade the standard black front grill badge to the red one. Does anyone know if there was an optional trim package available on the newer XKs or was this an upgrade the owner did independently? I happen to like the look as it might make my silver car pop somewhat if the getting the red front badge is not a bid deal. I'm willing to get the center caps from the dealership and paying the premium. If some member has the link to the thread I was referring to I'd be most appreciative. Thanks all.

I believe there are three badges.

Black, flat.

Black, 3d.

Red, 3d.

Some cutting of how it is attached is required to put the newer badge in place of the older one.

OR, get some bright red modelers paint and a detail brush and have at it. Takes about $3 and 20 minutes.

Cee Jay,
Your solution is exactly how I did mine years ago, and I wasn't particularly careful doing it, but unless you get the magnifying glass out, you can't tell.

About two years ago my black badge on the grill got damaged, probably by a rock. I replaced it with a red badge as well as the wheel caps all bought on Ebay. A word of caution, since I bought the cheapest set of wheel caps, around $20 the paint eventually faded. I replace the faded out caps with Jaguar OEM caps (around $50) bought off of Ebay and they have not faded. I think the red badges look better against the Rhodium Silver finish.

Forum member GrowlerJaguarParts in the UK just happens to have the OE red grille badge and OE red wheel centres listed:
https://www.growlerparts.com/XK8---XK.html

Prices are sufficiently far below list to consider having them shipped to the US.....?

I have a set of the wheel centres from Kevan on my XK.

These replaced the identical original set when I had the wheels refurbished. The grille badge is still the original.

Graham
