Replacing CATS shocks with normal ones

Default Replacing CATS shocks with normal ones

I'm considering replacing CATS shocks with conventional ones, but I don't know how they could be replaced without an alert appearing on the center screen.
Does anyone know how to do it?

Pull the fuse to the CATS module. It is located in the left footwell.

Doesn't that still throw the CATS code ? I would have thought it had to be turned off in the dealer software Jeremy

Surprisingly it does not. I can’t recall what fuse number it was but with it pulled the shocks go to the firmest setting and no codes even when unplugged.

The reason is none other than to value what CATS shock absorbers offer at the price they are selling, comparing them with normal shock absorbers in terms of performance and price.
Do the difference in vehicle performance with conventional shock absorbers or CATS really deserve that price difference?

So I understand that to replace them with conventional ones you would only have to disconnect the fuse and each connector of each CATS shock absorber
and mount the conventional shock absorbers.
In this way it would not indicate any failure on the screen?

Go the BC coil overs I'm sure Jeremy can give you a run down on them

I've replaced my front shocks and tried 3 different spring combinations .

As I can see it will coil overs you have precise control of the height and damper rate resulting in better handling and also a positive weight reduction.

Another issue with the CATS system is when they fail they will revert back to the default mode being not soft which is quite comfortable but instead the firm mode which is bone jarring

Is it necessary to put some element of emulation in the connectors of the CATS shock absorbers to avoid indicating a failure on the screen?

Try disconnecting the cats and pulling the fuse. That should give you your answer inside of ten minutes.

As I have already commented, I do not understand the English language.
In this forum I try to communicate by making my comment with the Google translator.

Without going any further I can explain that when you talk about "gearboxes" it appears to me in the Spanish translation as "transsexual".

It seems easy to test and see if it throws a code so disconnect the shocks and pull the fuse and report the results

correct and not failure or errors. It works perfectly. And yes I would highly recommend considering BC Racing coilovers.
