Default Roof not latched

Hello boys girls and sports fans, well I had a problem the other day my car was in storage and the battery went dead no problem i thought called a tow truck for a boost. My car is a 2007 xk convertible has been an awesome car but why didn't Jag put a positive battery point to hook jumpers to?? The driver had to lift the front and hook up to the starter,I don't have the trunk key I just use the fob. Everything seamed to go well engine started idled fine then i noticed some smoke by the navigation cd ( by this time I had the trunk opened and cover off the battery to check the age) in my panic I unplugged what wires I could see.Smoke cleared. I now have a number of problems including no centre dash touch screen, odd things coming up on dash by speedo saying step on brake engage e brake but the most frustrating is the top, I put it down but after lowering the windows the top only opened about two feet then stopped so no problem I'll put it up and worry about it later but it won't close just a notice saying top not latched?? so I released the pressure at the pump in the truck and manually closed it but the rear windows won't roll up. I have installed a new battery and now my cruise works but still not the top. Anyone have any ideas? I will be ordering a nav cd but that shouldn't have anything to do with the top? TIA

Randy

The emergency positive battery post is directly behind the left-rear wheel well, accessible from under the car. It's in the User Manual.
Also, hooking power up to the starter back-fed all the electronics, so maybe you just blew some **** up.

Try fixing your top as described in this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/w...d.php?t=201211

If that doesn't work, send a PM to Forum member WhiteXKR (Steve, The Jag Wrangler) with a link to this thread and ask him for his help. He's the soft top guru and inventor of the soft top remote control kit. If you don't already have his kit, it's what the factory forgot and it's very popular with Forum members.

As for a new nav disk, the most current maps are available from Volvo, not Jaguar. See this thread and buy the Volvo disk.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip on the placement to hook up booster cables you must have done this before I'm not sure where you keep your owners manuel but mine is in the glove box and car was locked, as for the back feeding?? the cable goes directly to the battery. Yes it's quite obvious something blew up.
