My Home Depot one just fell apart, lasted 2 years years and a couple hundred miles, rubber hard and cracking. Silicone would be better.

I've had the (Ace Hardware) plumbing coupler on mine for several years and many miles. The elbow was just off and the coupler is still supple.

My "SPECTRE" brand sleeve from Auto Zone is still in perfect shape! It's been probably seven years since I installed it.
