Overnight we got 12+ inches of snow. I went out yesterday, filled the tank with 93 octane (pump clearly said 10% ethanol ), added fuel stabilizer and put in the garage. Tire pads are on order.
However, the last few winters here have shown that cold weather and snowy precipitation are no longer a given, so we'll see what this winter brings.
BUMMER Dude! Me too.....for 2 months as I will be surfin Maui and Oahu....ahhhhhhh...lol
Sparky, that sounds fantastic...if true! I like winter - have been a ski instructor for 10 years - but don't like what it does to cars. It's OK to run my Outback in the snow, ice and salt (I wash it regularly) but I treat the XK more gently. That said, I agree that having the car sit for months at a time is not great either. Hopefully winter will give me some chances to take the XK for a short drive to keep it lubricated and moisture-free.
For everyone laying their cars up for the winter months it's a good time to do some maintenance and check things over. I have my car up on a quick jack to change over to ceramic brake pads (may go back to the OEM dust makers if performance is compromised), oil change, full detail, and general over inspection. I did all fluids last winter except power steering.
