Default seat leather coming unattached at the front

So as I was getting out of my XK today, noticed that the seat caught the top of my shoe. That had never happened before, so I took a look and saw that the front of the seat the leather had come unattached. There is a black plastic piece along the edge of the leather, essentially a long groove fitting, which I presume attaches to some sort of tongue fitting on the seat. When I get more time, I will look at it closer. I am assuming that I can just work it back onto the tongue and all will be good again.

Has anyone else had this issue?

The plastic piece gets twisted around to catch the lower lip of the metal base I had to put 2 self tapping small screws to keep the one on my 08 from coming off over and over again easy fix didn't come off again

How do you get the leather stretched sufficiently to snap the plastic rail where it's supposed to go? Do I have to remove the seat?

Use your front chest area and right arm to compress the seat front while using your left hand to pivot the plactic back over the metal seat frame. It might take a few times to get the hang of it.
