Recently getting Service indicator warning on start-up. goes away in a few seconds. I bought an icarsoft LR v.2, but it does not show what services are required. Admittedly, haven't spent much time with the icarsoft. Instructions are terrible! (My Carly for BMW was much more handy and intuitive). Is there a way to know what service is required from the vehicle's menu? I'm thinking oil, though not because of mileage, but because of time.
The Service Indicator isn't that advanced. It is a simple countdown against miles or time elapsed since the last reset. The reset procedure doesn't require an SDD session:
Normally reset at Service, an intermittent and unexpected warning message display can occur after running diagnostics - especially with a code clear.
Those above button pushes are quite finicky, and need to be done in a heartbeat rhythm to work. A steady beat and practice a couple times before attempting. Seriously.
When you do the reset procedure do not have the trip ometer displayed on the instrument cluster--you will not get the "service mode reset" confirmed messaged.

Yep and what SDD doesn't mention is you need to lift your right cheek and fart to the 1812 overture while resetting - or if outside the US, left cheek.
