I rather think of it as a shaved "mozart."

Actually, "shaved" handles are totally removed and replaced by poppers. FLUSH handles, such as on the X100 XKs and on the F-Type are just that.... Flush.

You kids and your hippie music.

For baroque, my go to is Bach, though Handel's music translated well and probably better to guitar. I played in my youth and I think my parents steered me toward him.

Punk? I call shenanigans.

The Nissan GT-R going back to 2008 had flush handle grabs before the F-Types did, don't forget. I do quite like them, but I also think they feel awkward.

Also don't forget, Dodge did flush handles way back in 1970, before the Nissan GT-Rs, did.

I'm also quite sure that there were many different flush handles even before 1970.
Nowhere near a "new" idea.

I am not a huge fan of F-type handles due to usability and long term durability concerns, but the car lines do look cleaner as a result.

Kinda like giving a firm handshake to a man missing couple of fingers.

It doesnt quite repay the favor.

The flush handles on my X100 are one of my least favorite bits. They don't give you much to grab when pulling the door open. I'm regularly left with a half opened door because my fingers slipped from their tiny awkward perch. On the plus side, they've never seared the skin off my fingers like those bloody awful chromed xjs handles!

I'm talking about the exact style that's used on the F-Type and GTR, though.

100% agreed. I always feel like I'm going to break the handle or it's going to slip out.

I think this idea died due to the tremendous amount of work considering Aluminum Bodies and the non-availability of suitable parts.

I think it died due to the pandemic, which caused shaving to be out of style.
