A couple of years ago there was some discussion re how to source "silver sparkle" wheel paint in spray cans. The end result, as I remember it, was that it was available in touch up kits from Jag but no one had ever seen it in spray form from any source.
So now, 2 years and 2 Jags later, I reissue the call.
Does anybody know of a source for "silver sparkle" Jag wheel paint
in spray form?
Judging by the response, I guess the availability of spray "sparkle silver" wheel paint is status quo. I've been all over the Internet and made a few calls. There is a wheel paint out there with the proper name but it is not related to Jag or any particular car.
There are some UK sites that address "silver sparkle" for older painted wire wheels but I couldn't find anything else. Seems like there would be a mkt for this product and somebody ready to service it.
Perhaps some of you guys in the UK have some add'l information?
I had used Dupli Color Silver Sparkle Wheel Paint that was close. Sprayed it in a cup along with some GM Ralley Wheel Paint(spray can) and got really close. I had these on hand so I don't really remember what they cost.
I have found a product that is "dead on" for Jag Silver Sparkle wheel paint and commonly available in the US at Advance Auto Parts. The label states it's an original GM color. Go figure.

I tried the paint suggested by tarhealcracker. I have/had a couple of minor curb rashed areas that stood out because the paint was scraped off. The Dupli Color paint above worked great! The spray can (under $7) was cheaper than the same in a touch up bottle. I used a fine brush and applied several light coats....
I have to repaint some areas on my Double Fives.
Any other member that tried that Dupli Color BGM0508 Ultra Silver Met (95 WA8867, 96 WA8867) since this has been posted?
These are my wheels now.
@Szabadi Kalman Your Public Profile shows that you have a 1998 XKR. You posted your inquiry in the X150 Forum, for the 2007-2015 aluminum models. Your XKR is the previous X100 model, and you should repost your inquiry here.
@CA Jag If you are not the original owner, how do you know that your wheels are the original color? Or how many times they've been refurbished?
Just get all 4 refurbished using whatever color you like best. Who's going to know that they're not the original color? ... unless you're having it judged in a concourse.

Good questions. Same color as other 4.2's I've seen. Car has 32k miles and I'm the 2nd owner. Probably original finish.
Getting the color right is easy if matching current color or doing a standard chrome ("Bright Silver"). More of a challenge if something different and picking from picture/small sample. Had my stock XK8 wheels redone in "Dark Chrome". They look great but not quite what I expected. This time, I'm going to pick a color that I've seen on an actual wheel. Porsche Silver for example. Wrong country but maybe my car will handle even better. Did a car show w the XK8. Fun but a lot of work. Only way I'll participate in a concours is as a spectator. Plan to check out Pebble Beach one of these days.
