I hear a sound of something small running when my car is off even when cold. I have left it for several days not hooked up and the battery didn't die so it can't be on all of the time, only when I am there. I put the fob 100 feet away and it was still on. Is this normal?

 

Probably the aspirator motor for the climate control; it's quite noisy.
