spoiler options
Recently I fell in love with the Grantley Design active spoiler. Problem is they are in the UK and havent answered any of my emails. Anyone know of any other options? xkr-s spoiler is ugly, $8000 gt spoiler looks ridiculous. I like the bigger lip version that Mina Gallery used to have. Anyone know where to get one of those?
Yeah, I bought one of those Mina Gallery spoilers that you're talking about against recommendations by fellow forum members. Gadzooks THAT was a mistake. I stupidly had it painted before a trial fit, and no matter what I did to the thing it WOULD NOT FIT RIGHT. Not even the Center Stop Light would fit anywhere near acceptably. Chris DID give me a refund of the purchase price, but I was out the $200 for paint.
I got a used OEM off eBay for slightly more than the Mina one and it fit perfect.

Anyone have the Mina Gallery RS Spoiler?

Ill definitely contact dealer to see if theres an option for my 08 xkr. Grantley got back to me. 985 poundrs shipping included. Around $1200 i think. For what it is and coming from the uk i think its fair. You retain stock spoiler, its aerodynamics match bottom spoiler, and it looks good up or down. Im going to seriously consider getting one considering xkr_s spoiler is $700 anyways.
I got mine from the UK through eBay, cost me about $400 shipped. The price listed included VAT, but since US the seller discounted it.

Cee Jay where did you get that carbon fiber trunk bar? Looks like a kit with the diffuser but if I could buy it separate iv'e been looking to get something like that. I plasti dipped mine black and it looks good, but I have been trying to delete everything that shows its a Jag. Most people don't know what kind of car it is and I think that's cool if you have a car like that.
Also your lid looks pretty awesome. Knowing that its a perfect fit is reassuring. Saving $800 bucks plus a simple install vs the other install is sounding good. Is there anywhere in US I can get it? or if you can give me part number or ebay seller that would be appreciated.

I was reading some other posts and can anyone confirm this is the jaguar part number for the speed pack spoiler? C2P22257XXX
the xxx on the end represents that it comes primered.

I purchased all the new genuine XKR-S rear bits and fitted them. The Carbon trunk plinth was standard on the GT and an option for the R-S. I still have the speedpack spoiler but added an APR carbon wing similar to the GT. It will add drag but I needed it to improve downforce in high speed turns on the track.
So I have been emailing Grantley back and forth this whole week. The spoilers are made to order so they have agreed to make a fixed spoiler for me which would eliminate all the electronics that could break and simplify the install. I found a used speed pack spoiler for $600 from the UK shipped. He sold the black one and only has a blue one that would not match my paint. With all that said, I am going with the Grantley for $800 shipped. I'm going to be the guinea pig on this one so i'll post pics and install steps for anyone who may want to go this route in the future.
So after a bunch of emails about how the spoiler installed, it all made sense after I learned that Grantley gives you two spoilers. One is a trunk lip spoiler similar to the "speed pack" spoiler minus the third brake light. The top wing goes directly above that. Im currently working on moving the sharkfin antenna farther up the trunk a couple more inches because the lower spoiler currently hits it. Grantley said its not a problem on the uk xkr so i guess they made them different. Still worth it if i think it will look like i hope it will. Ill post pics after install. I think im going to do vinyl wrap in matte black.
After the pound conversion It was about $800. Not sure how much of it was shipping but it came from Leeds England in about a week. I went for this because the speed pack spoiler I found used was 5-6 hundred shipped and the wrong color for my car. I ended up cracking the third brake light lens on removal so I think I it was fate lol. As for notching the bottom spoiler I wanted to do that but if you look at the picture there is a seperate section that was molded into the spoiler for the upper spoiler mounts. I dont have it in front if me so I dont know why he did this (ill check later) but the notch would cut into this and weaken the bond. I like that since the lower spoiler is raised off the trunk about 2 inches where the mounts will directly mount to the trunk, this will give the mounts for the upper spoiler more security as well as keeping the lower spoiler in its exact place also. In the absolute worst case scenario if either came off completely it would not fall off the car the way its designed. As for the antenna this is what I did lol. I took the sharkfin cover off. I grinded off all the metal around the rectangle piece that had all the vital electronics on it. This Made it smaller, still mounted on the metal pad and still able to mount on the trunk using the bolts that are mounted on the bottom of the plate and tighten with nuts from underneath the trunk. Doing this allows me to slide the shrkfin highr up the trunk. Now I need to find a good way to adhere the sharkfin because now there isnt alot of area to adhere it because now I only have the thin outer part of the shell that comes in contact with trunk. I need to get more surface area on the sharkfin so I can use double sided m3 tape. Any bright ideas? Ill post pics of what im dealing with.
Bottom of antenna that i can still bolt down on trunk
Shark fin that i need to attach back on trunk
Top of antenna that i hacked off edges of metal plate
Ok so now i need advise on how to attach the shark fin nice and secure. It was previously screwed into the metal plate, now i dont have the plate to work with anymore.
