Default Steering wheel: is it possible to order the bottom spoke cover only?

Hi all, some of the silver paint on the bottom spoke of my steering wheel has gone away (see the arrow on the pic below), so I was wondering if it was possible to order just that silver plastic bit that covers the spoke or if one has to order a whole steering wheel instead...

Have some of you guys changed such parts on your steering wheel? If yes, how do you proceed?
Or have you painted the areas where the paint was missing?

Thanks a ton in advance for the info!

See if you can pop it off? Maybe a screw in the back? I doubt they sell just the piece separate from the wheel. Worst case, you can mask off the surrounding areas and paint it.

You would buy an entire steering wheel because some paint peeled? Wow, you have more disposable income than I do, evidently.
Me, I'd sand it a bit and paint it.

I’d imagine that it would pop off I can take a look as I have a spare wheel lying around , once off you’d paint all 3 so they match

Some videos on YT showed indeed a screw in the back, but on mine there's a little plastic bit covering the hole where that screw should be...

LOL no...I too would go the painting route I guess... And if ever I bought a new wheel, you can be sure I'd resell this one...

I’ve been watching eBay for several years for steering wheel parts, and that has never shown up as a separate part. Neither the NA nor /R version.
Think you’ll either need to paint it, or buy a replacement wheel. Depending on your color, you may or may not find a decent one easily on eBay.

well if it's on the back you'll never see that spot again after your reconditioning is done. of course if it's just some plug and a screw is not there, you'll have made a hole for nothing.

I have that one spare, but not sure of a condition. Reach me out via private message if you want me to check. Are you in Luxembourg, EU? If in EU we can probably make it (I'm on PL).

Do you mean a whole wheel, or specifically that plastic bit covering the bottom spoke?

Both things, but I was referring to specifically this small silver plastic.
But checked it - definitely better than yours, but not in pristine condition.

Reviving an old thread…
George - Were you able to remove that plastic cover on the lower spoke of the steering wheel?

Nope, and I'm rather leaning towards either repainting it - it may not perfectly match, but it would still be better than black, where the paint has come off or maybe finding one of these bottom spoke covers, provided they're sold separately (but I'm afraid they're not...):

Anyway, I'll soon be taking mine to the dealership for its yearly maintenance, so I'll ask about it then. I'm a bit afraid now of the complexity of a full wheel swap, with all the electronics involved...
