Taillightconnector pin input, did I just ruin them!?
Bought 2010 taillights and wanted to test them on the bench but can't get them to lid up, now I'm afraid if i've ruined them by putting voltage on the wrong pins!?I thought LED's don't break by reversing positive and negative? I looked at George Kale's installation PDF and thought pin 3 on the taillight is ground, the only LED's that lid up were the turnsignal but very weak, you could hardly see them lid up. Battery I used was on a maintainer and had 12.6v.
I had bought a taillight from a 2013 previously and tested it the same way what I remember and they lid up but returned it as there was a crack in the plasic.
On the connector of the taillight pin 1 is blank and I figured 3 is ground?

George’s pin out diagram had me a bit confused too.

They work!:-)
Tested the inner one's and they worked too but 2-3 led's on both foglights were dim or out. I will call the company I bought them from too see if they will send me the 2 from a 2013 which I hope work. I told them when I purchased them that I'll buy the 2010 lights if all led's worked so will see how there customer service is when I call them on monday!:-)
THANKS!

Wow, that's a crappy PDF to try and test the lamps from. You really want to know what lamp functions each wire does.
Not sure about the '10 housings but my '07 reverse lamp modules have control circuits on them. I tried installing a 3w and 5w white SMD LED in place of the unmarked red ones onto that circuit and it wouldn't light up brightly. Not sure if I nuked the board or if they just don't have enough forward current to light to SMD. Looking to piggyback another circuit in place to drive the brighter lights now.

Yeah, been a learning curve between constant current and constant voltage style SMD's and drivers.
Ordered a pair of these for drivers in the 3x3w version:

Two 9w lamps will hopefully be blindingly bright because a single 3w (if that) sucks with tinted glass.
