I'm driving my friend's XE, 3 SC, tuned to 525hp on E85. Hoping to see @ 170mph. Is anyone else going to this event?
I'm excited @ the run and also seeing the Ring of Fire while doing so.

I seriously believe you will only get up to 155, unless someone changed or removed the limiter.
I had mine raised to the R-S spec of 186 as I have driven the Silver State before. Now since the 'vid I haven't returned.
We hit 168.4mph through the mile, 115 in the 1/4. Good times.
correction
We hit 167.9mph through the mile, 116.3 in the 1/4. Good times.
We were the only Jaguar in the entire group of hundreds and hundreds of cars and bikes.
Watched a 'somewhat' modified corvette hit 198mph in the 1/2mile, didn't wait until he got serious and do the mile!
and the ultimate sleeper, a neon looking pretty stock, hit 198.5 in the mile!
We're planning on returning next year, 180mph would be nice but probably going to require @ 700hp so maybe a different jaguar. My XK convertible served as one of the best looking storage lockers on the grounds but I must admit a Bentley convertible got my attention.

When running these speeds it takes an enormous amount of power to raise the speed by even a few MPH. Areo is just so important. I saw guys taping all the hood and fender seams up. One guy even blocked the entire front of the car off with plastic sheeting to force all the air around the car!
Was the MK2K team there with the world record holder GT40 Ford? 300 mph in the standing mile! They have an amazing set up with an 18 wheeler trailer and several over the top cars.
Last time I went they also had a portable Dyno! That was also a great bit of fun!!
wymjym,
That's great! Must've been a lot of fun. Someday, I'd like to get my Pantera out there for a run. I know my XKR will have a higher top speed, but just the roar of a wide open throttle on the Pantera and the brutal acceleration to the top speed would be incredible. I'd have to add a down force front splitter or rear spoiler since the Pantera wants to become airborne at speeds above about 100-110. You'd hear that thing in Oklahoma, it's so loud.
It would have really been nice to have you there, maybe next year?
I needed to get back home sat afternoon...so we had 4 runs on friday and saturday only one. Many more people showed up for the sat/sun portion. I did not see the gt40 but as I said, left mid day sat. Two stock mclaren 720s were running around 190 mph.
No portable dyno but since our car was awd it wouldn't have interested us. I really think if we had another run or two we would have broken into the 170s but ...
It was a great couple of days and if anyone can join in next year I recommend doing so.
Oh, we were Number 1. It didn't get us any special privileges other than to be able to honestly say, we were number 1. That feels good in a strange way. Just the first to sign up and send in some $.

You would have quite an audience and I'm sure would totally enjoy the time spent there. Your Pantera is beautiful and I'm certain it sounds great. The sounds alone are so varied in this environment that it is hard to imagine how your car sounds to an audience some 5200+feet away. Several of the super serious (high $$$$$$$) efforts were gaining enough power at speed that the exhaust tone was changing and getting more frantic sounding as they went faster and faster.
Our little XE was lowered (too much) with H&R springs. The beautiful carbon fibre front splitter had it's underside ground down over the 1/2 mile slow down portion of the airfield, courtesy of me.
(I guess I shouldn't have used the brakes)
