XE Tour Event
Have been invited by Jaguar to Gleneagles tonight to see the New XE I believe there will be 2 Cars on show it's being held between (5.30/8.30pm),I'm looking forward to seeing the Car in the flesh so to speak, I'm told that you can't take any Pictures.

The cars on show were a (EX S 3.0 litre from the F Type in Italian Racing Red and a Prestige 2.0 litre in white metallic )
It's the best Aerodynamic car they have Produced with Drag of 0.26 compared with 0.28 for the F Type
Didn't here any mention of a 5.0 litre engine being available but when asked about a Estate or Coupe they said anything is possible but they did say that. All Petrol Engines will only have Automatic Gearboxes and Diesel Engines will have a choice of Manuel or Automatic Gearboxes
I think members down sizing from an XF will find it easier than a X Type Owner because of the long bonnet and you'll certainly need Front and Rear Parking Aids, getting in and out the car seemed to be a bit difficult especially from the Rear Seats and my shoes hit the sill because of the width. But like every thing new it takes time getting used to it.
I think the car should do well if the Technology that was mentioned is as good as they say and as they said last night these are preproduction models and apologised if anybody found any rough edges. These models had the Batteries in the Boot I don't know if this will be for the production models but if certain models have 2 Batteries one could be next to the engine
and one in the Boot to balance things out.

Did you get to sit in it? On a side note my XF's battery is in the trunk. Not sure if that's the case for all new Jags or not.

Yes you could sit in the Cars as I said I found it difficult to get from the rear seats and my shoes hit the Sills because of there width, we didn't here the Engines Running but they certainly let you poke about the Cars. Internally the Roof Lining comes along and then takes a curve up towards the Alloy Roof giving rear passengers more head room
The interior in both cars (door panels, seats, carpets, and roof lining) were all in Black there seems to be quite a large number of colours available so will have to wait till they go on sale to see what interior colours will be.

Sorry must have glazed over that part of your post. My XF isn't exactly what I'd call roomy but if it's comparable to it that would be more than fine for a compact car. I have the black/white accents in my XF but I'm looking to go with a brown/tan color if they offer it.
