Default Third Brake Light Bulbs (2 are out)

Can you change individual bulbs on third brake light on spoiler?

Talked to dealer, claims it's a sealed unit, replace entire unit Led strip and housing/lens $160. Seems costly compared to only needing to replace two bulbs??

I believe it's all one big moulded strip of plastic with the LEDs embedded in it. You can't really get at individual LEDs without trashing the moulding.

LEDs used this way are brightness matched, so even if you were to open the unit and solder in a couple of similar LEDs they will likely look out of place.

If you have the time and inclination, you might be able to crack open the housing and use a cheap commercial LED strip as someone did here on an earlier model XK8 coupe: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-repair-27177/ and then reseal the housing with some clear RTV.

Not necessarily "brightness matched" as much as "part number matched", but the gist is correct.
However if the LEDs are in fact accessible, I would remove a good LED from each end to replace the burnt ones, and then solder in two generic replacements to the ends... This would not stand out as much as different intensities in mid-strand....

my 2 cents
