It does; the Vortex rims are the same spec as the Vulcan rims on the R-S.

Photos (such as they are) are attached....my driving ability is hopefully more advanced than my photographic ability! I was on vacation last week, driving up the California coast on Highway 1.......but before you become too jealous, I have to admit it was in my wife's SUV (for cargo carrying capacity) vs the XKR-S that that road was made for!

Do they project out past the rim a bit more than the P-Zeros? Might help ease my paranoia about kerbing the durn things - we have narrow streets here, so I need to get close, but not too close, to the kerb.

The overall diameter of the new tires are only 0.1" greater in front and 0.2" greater at the rear. Because the new tires are between 99.75% (front) and 99.25% (rear) of the stock size, speedometer error should not be a concern.

Tire weight is the same for the front tires and just 1.5 lbs heaver than stock for the rear, so the active suspension and ABS calibrations should not be adversly affected.

As expected from their use on prior vehicles, the Michelin's are both quieter and slightly more responsive then the Pirelli P Zero's that were original equipment.
Thank you for this information. I can't wait to ditch the PZeros and get these exact tires.

Awesome car, too. Make sure to check in here, if you want.

You will be the first black car on the poll. I know there is another one in my area but he hasn't checked in yet.

The front tires now exceed the rim by almost 3/8", and the rear by almost 5/8".....a great improvement!

Question for Forum Members: I live in MI and drove my 2012 XKR-S last winter on reasonably dry days when there was little salt on the roads. Temps. as low as 20 degrees. Traction obviously poor. I enjoyed driving the car occasionally so much I want to do the same this winter. The question is whether to get the new All Season Michelin Pilot Sp. A/S 3 which performs as well as many summer tires but is only made in a 285 rear as opposed to the stk 295 or buy another summer tire like the 305's Ngarara discusses in his threads? If I was in a warmer climate there would not be a question. I expect the somewhat narrower 285's would yield less traction in the summer but I would have more safely in the winter with the 285 all seasons.

Sorry to bring this up again. I will be installing New chrome 20" Senta Wheels 9.5" / 8.5". and new tires this spring and would like to install larger tires .( I have 19' Jupiter wheels now ) I like the Idea of 295 - 35 rear to fill the wheel opening ,but what about the front can we go larger on the front to get the same affect .if so what size ???
Also would this eliminate the need for spacers and lowering for a better stance . BL

Does anyone have any additional head-to-head comparison findings on the PZeros vs Pilot SuperSports? Dry traction is my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd criterion

Thanks,

Rich

I'll be switching to michelin PSS (from P0's) in the next month or 2. I'm not sure if I'm going with the bigger size yet- it will depend partly on availability. I'll let you know my thoughts when I do

Default Anothe Tire Option to consider

I use Vredestein tires as suggested by others in this Forum. The grip is tremendous in both dry and wet conditions. The look is also a big plus. I have about 5,000 miles on them now and love them. Quiet too. I would definitely buy them again.

Default 21 Inch Wheels on an XKR

Has anyone tried fitting 21 inch wheels onto a 2010 XKR? Normally I would not consider doing this but I found a wheel I love but it is not made in 20".

By the way, I have lowered the car by 35mm. It seems these would fit on the front but probably too tight in the rear.

Anyone with answers?

Be careful with 21 inch wheels. There are already far too many reports of bent 20" wheels on this forums. You would be loosing an additional 0.5" sidewall rubber for shock absorption...

Usma.......what pressure are you running your Ultracs at?? I've just fitted some on the back of my 2010 XKR and found them to have quite alot of sidewall flex at 36psi.....now running at 38psi.....have come from the factory Dunlop SP sport maxx. Grip of the Vredesteins has blown me away though....in the wet they are amazing!!! Do you have the Ultracs all round? Any tramlining on the fronts??

Cheers!!
