Default Touchscreen issue

Guy’s
I recently had to jump start my beloved 07 x150 XKR and since replacing my old battery with a new Bosch one I cannot get my touchscreen to work ? I have looked at fuses in all 3 boxes and all are fine c, can anyone suggest a solution before I have to go to my local jag dealer and get ripped off by their exuberant ridiculous prices, here’s hoping regards to all jag fans Ali

It would be worth checking the relay diagram to see if there is a relay involved which can also be checked.

Do you have an ODB scan tool which might provide some clues and enable you to clear any fault codes?

Did you leave the battery disconnected when you changed the battery or did you use a spare battery to maintain the 12V supply? Assuming that you fully disconnected the battery, it might be worth disconnecting both terminal connectors again and holding the +ve and -ve cables together for 30 seconds to try and reset the electronics. You will then need to reset the windows as detailed in the Owners Manual.

You say you replaced your battery....... Dollars to Donuts that your new battery isn't fully charged. That's the main cause of what you say the problem is right now.

This is a long shot, but just push the power on button without starting the car, let the aux stuff come up, in my XKR, that sometimes will wake up the system, and then when you start the car, the systems all come up, particularly the display functions, Good luck

I have the same issue. My new battery is now fully charged. Tomorrow im going to disconnect it, put the terminals together for 30 seconds, then reconnect (i will consult my research to double check this).

Starting to run out of ideas, would like to understand how to check the relay though, will re-run diagnostics

A much simpler explanation’s the TSD’s failed. It’s becoming more common with age.

If it has failed. would the Tesla style be a viable replacement? Or are there other components that would also need to be replaced?

@wymjym yes any compatible screen would be a suitable solution.

The screen on my X150 worked perfectly. Then the car went into storage for nearly a year and the battery flat. Screen no longer worked. Replaced with a new and no further issues. As electronics age, components, especially capacitors become sensitive to lack of use.

what was your new replacement- a standard brand new oem? Tesla style big screen? Or a 2nd hand oem?
