Default Transmission Weirdness Anyone?

08XK - This only happened a couple of times (most recently tonight). Both times were similar in nature. After driving for over 1/2 hour, I pulled over to retrieve something from the trunk. I put the car in park and left it running. I put the car in drive and started off, only to feel a drag on the tranny. Looking at the dash, the car was in ist gear as if I were in the sport mode. I slid the shift over to sport and then back over to drive and everything was fine. Anyone else experienced anything like this?
Thanks

I've bumped the paddle shifter with my knee many many times while getting in or settling my butt on the seat which has caused Manual Mode to be initiated. Maybe that's what happened? I usually notice within the first fifty feet, yet again in First.

Also, instead of moving the shifter to Sport and back, simply hold the Upshift Paddle for about three seconds... that puts it back into full automatic.
