Default Two questions about the steering wheel ice controls.

On the left we have the source or mode button which scrolls between radio bands, aux audio, CD, etc. It appears, looking at the wiring diagram, this is controlled by the High speed can bus. Is it possible to rewire this switch to control other things, such as the various screen tabs on the touchscreen?

Also, for this that have adaptive, what exactly does the far right button do again? Adjust the distance the cruise control operates at? Same question here, can it be repurposed?

Don’t have adaptive cruise, but you’re right, it’s to control the distance.
Would be cool to repurpose it, as I bought that switch pack, with the thought of one day making it a ‘volume control’ for the exhaust (i.e. controlling servo or stepper motors to run the flaps on a XKR exhaust, rather than just off/on values).

If the Speed Limiter Button thing on the center console near the Winter Mode button is (can't remember the name of it) is any indicator, you can't use it for anything else. Some member in here tried to use it for switching something but it isn't 'just a switch'. Part of a MUX or CAN system and it would need to be programmed in the BCM or something weird.

reprogramming buttons on a CAN network is possible with other marques, such as Audi and BMW, in fact it's quite commonly done to switch custom remaps, etc. I'm not certain however, if anyone's attempted Jaguar's.

My thought was to change the source button on the left side to select the tabs on the touchscreen as the source button is also on the control panel. Then if successful, use the distance control to scroll within the selected touchscreen tab. Yep saw the high can bus line in the wiring diagram and also remembered the touchscreen is also MOST integrated, just decided no can do.
