Ugh, my first real problem, Even-Numbered Misfires RESOLVED

I dunno, maybe it doesn't do anything whatsoever. Maybe it's the be-all-end-all of engine lubrication.
I had to change my oil, and I saw the advertisement and figured I'd use it.
I'm also going to use fuel detergent additives a bit more often as well, just in case.

I was just wondering since according to the injector images they do not come in contact with the engine oil, especially the squirting parts. Seems it would be low ash or something related to PCV oil consumption to keep carbon chunkies from getting up in the valve.
On old school diesel the valve part is way up in the injector and there's just little ports for the fuel to vaporize through as it injects

I didn't mean to sound like I think any oil would interact with my Injector problems, I just changed the oil because it was about time anyway and my injector did stick open and flood that cylinder with fuel, which I am sure some leaked past the rings and found its way into the oil. My oil did stink of gasoline. Hence the oil change.
More additives in the fuel is my attempt to avoid future injector problems. Maybe I can catch it soon enough to avoid swapping out the other four.

Fuel cleaners (PEA) are like the Church...
Even the staunchest critics discover it after they hit a brick wall..
Then they grasp for straws.
Unlike God, there is only one chemical that works universally- PEA
Look for the strongest concentration to get best bang for the buck.
So far I have found the brand CRC to have the most concentrated form.
Note to penny pinchers. Advance Auto carries it and 40% off coupon can be used.
Keep in mind that you will be changing your oil after treatment, as that carbon is now in the oil and oil is thinned.
So its a good time to run an engine flush (Lubegard).

Cee Jay, thanks for sharing this information. Looking back and seeing the codes, would have sent me down a different path to start with as injectors would have been low on the list. Given the previous posts from others experience let you hone in on the injectors and probably saved some billable hours, not to mention the next guy who encounters this problem.
Thanks
Thanks

...the oil I bought cost MORE than the Castrol (or other brand) Spec oil cost. Since the beginning of time, auto manufacturers have stated "You Must Use 'this' oil or your engine will explode". 99.893% proprietary baloney. My car is eight years old now. The best oil available back then is total crap by today's standards.
Your typical Castrol Jag-Spec oil is 'supposedly' as close as perfect as possible....... eight years ago, and probably by an agreement between Castrol and Jaguar that involved many millions of $$$.
The stuff I bought is made specifically for GDI engines, the Jag Spec stuff is not. Sure, it was recommended for GDI engines, waaaayyyyy back on the very first second of GDI birth. Nobody knew the results of 'the same old oil' on these new engines. Now people DO know. Technology does progress, quite quickly some times.
I really didn't expect yet another debate about oil types.
