Just found out today that there is a strange button in my XK hidden behind the cig lighter.
Doesnt do anything, also cant find it in the ownersmanual.. :/
Do more people have a button in that spot??
If so, what does it do

Agree, its not red so it is probably ok to touch it.

It does look aftermarket so you'd have to trace it out to tell what it is intended for.

See if it enables/disables the automatic power antenna. This is was pretty common mod on the early models that had this antenna.

 

Good catch, Steve! Odds are you're right. The OP's Public Profile shows that he's in The Netherlands and has a 2006 XK, the first model year of the X150 in Europe that has the retractable antenna.

 

If it is for the antenna I want one.

I had one added to my X100 but at the back of the central armrest, also had a boot/trunk release release button installed there too, I think I paid an auto electrician £80 to install both

 

I checked my car. It does not have that.
