Default Unlocked beep warning

For the past week or so, when I go to lock my car with the fob, I will get the familiar locking single beep but about ten or fifteen seconds later after I've starting walking away, I will get the double beep signifying that either a door is open or the trunk or hood is open. When I go back and check everything is closed. I then open and slam closed either or both doors and I am able to lock it up properly. There is obviously something going on with the sensor, but where is that sensor located? Any ideas?

I think there are multiple intrusion sensors for the hood, doors, and trunk. Instead of wasting time and money with trial and error, I'd get a proper diagnosis to pinpoint the cause and how to troubleshoot it. My basic ELM327 OBDII reader probably can't display those codes, but the Jaguar SDD and other devices should be able to.

P.S. The manuals in this Sticky should help.

Provided codes haven't been cleared, running an SDD session should tell you everything short of what you had for breakfast. My XK has no faults and it still gives three pages of code history going back to a less than concerning "Speaker 6 circuit" intermittent DTC recorded after the first 82 miles.

True Graham . I had the transmission service done early this year at "Specialists " car had over 10 stored Faults on the system i was shocked called them once i had got home and read through the codes . You have a good clean car Their was the reply ? I then phoned the jaguar indie i deal with spoke to them . Owner said i have around 15 jaguars in just now and bet all have stored faults in them. nothing to worry about i know your car and it is well cared for. strange how the icarsoft V11 JLR version never picked any of them up
