Adamesh and I believe a few other companies make a kit that allows for plug right in conversion

Yes, its doable, I and several others on this forum have done it.
George Kale created a nice write up on how to do it.
See Post #51 in this thread:

I got my lights and harness from SNG Barratt, here in the US. Resistors and relays I bought online from various sources.
You may have other sources over there.

Nice write up but why do I need the 2010 harness, I see the inner lamp has a different connector, 3 wires instead of 2 which is for both fog and reverse and my car has one of each but I was planning of taping in to them and connect the extra light on each side. Is the connector on the main led light the same as on the car, only need to switch places on some wires?
The resistors are 25W 25ohm, I have found 25W 8ohm over here!? What's the difference, my thoughts are that I need 25W resistors, does it matter what ohm they are?

I will be back with more questions!:-D

Yes, you could wire it yourself, but remember that the connector might be different (its been a couple years, so I don’t recall), and if so, the new lamps won’t plug into the old connector. Just seems easier to replace that harness.

That is correct.

I believe the resistance (ohms) is very important. If you read the other threads on the topic, many struggled with getting ‘lamp out’ errors on their dash display. George Kale was able to narrow down the specific values that keep the system happy.
The wattage (W) was selected as being a safe value to absorb the power. You could use higher wattage resistors, but the packaging would be larger and harder to deal with.

The resistance in ohms is the key, but when I did my light conversion I had to do a lot of trial and error to get rid of the faults because the suggested resistances weren't suitable.

On mine it was an 8ohm on each of the brake lights, 12ohms on the left rear indicator, 6ohms on the right rear indicator.

You do need the harness for the inner lights because not only are the plugs different, is wired up differently as well with both reverse and fog wires to each side, the earlier lights are one only to opposite sides.

I bought the left rear light from a scrapyard for a good price as it had some scratches on it. Arrived yesterday and when I unpacked it the scratches were doable to "hide with a good polish but what those idiots didn't see was the crack where water and dirt had come in!:-(
They gave me a full refund but pisses me of how they "missed" something so important.
My updating plan is on ice right now as I don't have the funds to buy at "full price".
Thanks for the help so far and hope to be back on this topic soon.:-)

Thanks for the offer but with Swedish VAT and shipping it is a bit expensive for me. I might have found another pair here in Sweden so anyone interested in these lights feel free to purchase them.

The 5.0L LED taillights not only look cool but they'll make your XK faster and worth more!

Well, I got 1 out of 3 right - didn't I ?

Didn’t tell the wife, and she’s never noticed.
But that’s nothin’, she’s never noticed my original XK backbox hanging from the ceiling in the garage either!
