Urgent Need OEM Replacement Bumber Cover (C2P9870XXX)
Hello, Is anyone out there, anyone at all! (enough channeling Pink Floyd).
I WAS scheduled to put my 2010 XKR (Red Convertible) onto a boat to ship it from Honolulu Hawaii to Naples Italy in a few weeks. Sadly, I backed into a stop sign and made a mess of the bumper cover (and some other parts). Everything came into repair it, but after a month of waiting, the bumper cover came in damaged. The shop wants to return the part to its sender and get another from the local dealer. After waiting a month (and observing despite my requests to expedite shipment, they slow-rolled the delivery: trucked across country and slow boat from LA to Honolulu. I'm asking:
1. For the experienced body guys, do you thing this can be repaired and stand the test of time?
2. Does anyone have a line on a "available bumper cover (C2P9870XXX, VIN last 6 B34947) that can be air shipped to HNL in a couple of days?
Appreciate hearing from anyone who's out there!
Cheers! Marc Visually from the outside of the damaged screw hole. Break in the retaining bolt hole.

Reason: Edited VIN
when you say the shop, do you mean body shop? They would be the experts. why are they saying they can't fix it? Your pictures are too close up to see the issue exactly. I bought my XK with a damaged read bumper cover. It's generally some plastic welding from the inside, a type of bondo, sand and paint. If someone runs into it, yes is will crack again. Repair took two days and cost me $600 repainted.
Pearl to Naples? Sounds like a shipmate. I was unable to obtain a front bumper cover in the US. Had to be shipped from the UK. Luckily it was undamaged. If I were you I’d wait for one that was perfect but that may not work with your shipment schedule.
Hi Sean,
Thanks for responding. I found out the "body shop" guy was a young kid who takes care of scheduling and his input did not reflect the opinion of his in-house technicians. So we are proceeding with the part delivered.
Best Regards,
Marc
Hi Graham,
Thanks for taking some time to check on this. I found two, one in New York and another in Louisiana. However, owing to the minimal damage and the technicians confirmation that it was easily resolved, I've decided to continue with the part as delivered. In this case: 1) Insurance pays and I wouldn't want to dry and deal with multi-country insurance issues and 2) schedule is King.
