Default Using Android media box in place or HKS Camp 2

hey guys. I'll do a write up on this shortly but I've installed GVIF. I haven't connected a back up camera yet and may not.

Instead of the HKS Camp 2, I'm using an android media box with Torque Pro. It's similar to HKS Camp 2 but as you know, it connects via bluetooth, then output is HDMI to RCA.

Here's my issue and I'm hoping you have some ideas.

I have a slight flickering and a pinkish hue.

I don't have this issue with the box when it's in the house connected to a monitor. It picks up the BT signs fine and the output is great.

Once I plug it into the GVIF box, I get the problem. They're minor but annoying. Here are a couple of pics. I'd appreciate any input.
Notice the pink on the map and the distorted colors on the gauge background.

I did a GVIF factory reset and attempted to adjust the GVIF color, hue , saturation etc..

The flickering coincides with my voltage fluctuations and my idle is hunting a bit since doing a hard reset on the battery. SO I'm getting interference. Just not sure how to isolate it and eliminate it.

I have since removed the bluetooth dongle and the media box, so now only the GVIF is connected between the nav box and the touch screen.

repeated the factory reset and still have the same problem.

switch 123 are down, the rest are up

I've got nothin' on how to fix the issue, but I'm following your progress on this mod with interest. Appreciate you 'boldly going where no man has gone before' on this one. Good luck. We're all counting on you!

I appreciate that but the credit goes to WhiteXKR, FlyC2C and Marque and many others who have all done this before. My only difference is the android box(es) vs. the HKS2 Camp, which are rare and expensive as we all know.

My issue is in the GVIF itself, most likely the connections not fitting quite right or altogether loose. That will result in a ping NAV screen.

I'm wondering, will dielectric grease improve the connection or harm it?

Maybe have someone watch the screen while you climb into the trunk and wiggle the connectors and wires into the connectors, to see if any change can be seen. Might be able to locate the issue that way, or at least rule them out.

Thanks kj, I was able to find it. Image is fine now. It was the connection at the touchscreen.

I'll start my write up shortly and have it for you guys today or tomorrow, including costs.

I've had the touchscreen laying in place while working on Cambo's solution to implement reverse camera via Fakra connection.

I have two different touch screens with different year OS in each. I think continually swapping them out caused the problem.

I'm following this closely, too!
Thanks!

Does this mean that Waze (map/nav/traffic app) could be transmitted to the Jag display - from the Tronsmart Draco AW80 or Android phone?

Also, do you have the link to the GVIF you used? That is missing from your Word document.

Best,
~wrair

Hi wrair. Sorry, check my other thread on the how to. There is a thread link where Flyc2c bought his GVIF. I bought mine from eBay but from the same company Car-Solutions. Check the other thread.

To answer your question on Waze, I don't use it but check my note about google maps and a second android box. From what I know of waze, you can add a second droid box and download it to that box, have it auto start, then just toggle. Or if your only interest is in Waze, I would think you can as long as you have GPS enabled, etc...
