My husband just got me the XK8 at a Mecum auction (only 24,000 miles). I love it, but it was in valet mode and we can not get it out. We've tried the "pumping breaks for 10 times", pressing key fob lock and trunk key together. Other then bringing it to a dealer does anyone have any other suggestions? Dealership is an hour and a half away. Thanks.

We can't get the boot opened. Trust me we have tried.

 

The VALET MODE is ONLY CANCELLED by opening the boot lid and triggering the microswitch for the lights and INSTPK display.

The only other way is to replace either the BPM or the SLCM. (I don't remember which one is responsible for VALET MODE)

 

Hopefully you have the BLACK Key. Go to rear of car and insert it in the key hole near the XK8 emblem. May have to put some lock lube if it wasn't used much. Lock Eze is brand we use. It contains Graphite and is liquid.

 

We have the silver key that comes out of the key fob.

 

This XK8 is the next model up. Strictly key fobs with a push button start and the emergency silver is in the fob. There are no black or green keys with this model.
