Default Vibration certain RPMs

My 2010 xkr is experiencing a pretty significant vibration when in manual mode, 3rd gear between 2000 - 3000 rpm. I don't feel it any other time. Any ideas on what it could be?

Could it be a droning sound?

What speed does that translate to? Possible wheel balancing issue? A bent rim?

My 2010 has a slight vibration in all gears around 1800 RMP. Sounds like an exhaust vibration somewhere. One of these days I'll get under there to diagnose it...

I can check the speed tomorrow. Would a wheel balance issue present itself only at certain speeds?

It can. Had the issue on one car, years ago, where it was fine up to 60 mph, then vibrated. Above 70 it smoothed out again. Suspension was able to hide it at most speeds except that 60-70 mph range.

yes, but in my experience it's more often been uneven brake pad wear, crudded-up brake discs, or a tire flat spot.

My 2010 XKR with about 190,000 miles on it has recently develoed a very light vibration as well. I just put new front tires on last week, so they were balanced, and I had the vibration before the new tires. It is ever so slight but knowing how smooth this car has always been, I do notice it. I'm guessing it;s something in the drivetrain not the tires.

or worn tires? cupping of the tires? alignment? worn suspension part…
It was at my last alignment that I learned one of the bolts in the bushing of the strut was about to fail…. I went in for the alignment early that time…. the car didn’t feel right when making sharp left turns at speed and had an unexpected vibration in the car.

Are you able to determine where the vibration is coming from

That is - rear of vehicle could be diff

If its slighty behind you it could be a faulty tailshaft bearing or
if your feeling up near your feet as suggested by moses it very well could be that the torque convertor needs to be re-balanced.

Swapped out my summer tires for winter, it ended up being a balancing issue. Thanks!
