I checked the coolant Friday and it was low. I added some and then checked yesterday before going to the dealer for an oil change. It was low again. Knowing there are issues with 2010 water pumps, I mentioned it to the dealer. As I suspected, it needed to be replaced. Problem solved.

 

Many of the XF guys w/ the 5.0L (mine included) have had the water pump replaced.


Leak on mine was not noticeable but the dealer replaced it when I took in for annual service.


you may want to have it checked as it was described as a slow leak out the weep hole. This sounds like what could be happening to yours?

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my post. I told the service advisor at the dealer I was losing coolant somewhere and thought it was the water pump. It was and they replaced it. A fair number of water pumps for the 2010s were apparently defective.
