Default Waterpump small inlet pipe upgrade metal elbow

For those of you that upgraded to the metal elbow which goes into the front of the water pump,
what did you use to ensure that it didn't leak other than the O-ring?

I have a persistant leak there after upgrading to the brass metal elbow, seems loose.

I believe I've read in a thread, with the metal coolant pipes you have to use the original seal ring not the one shipped with the pipe. I replaced all of my coolant lines and 2 piece plastic pipes with new one piece ones about 3 years ago. I wish the metal pipes were available at the time.

Do a search on the form. I hope you find the solution. Maybe someone who's already done it will chime in.

On the Land Rover forums (same engine) it was identified that the O-rings supplied are the wrong size.
Swap it out, and Bob's your uncle.

Thanks for the tip, funny question but: is the o-ring suppose to go inside the hole?
The one supplied definitely won't fit.

I dound the answer, the supplied O-ring does NOT
Fit inside the waterpump inlet hole, will need to find
a smaller one.

O-ring goes in first, then the black or grey retainer clip
lastly the brass connector gera inserted.

go to a proper, commercial “fasteners” shop. They’ll have more O rings than you can shake a stick at.

I think that's the same part I had to make myself using a mini-lathe and a 1/4 brass flange elbow. It took a couple hours to get it right.
