Default wax on rag top

I accidentally got wax on the convert top with a buffer, underneath the rear window. Any suggestions how to remove it, other than using a quart of gas and a flare.

I use a heavy dose of Dawn (blue) dishwashing liquid in a small bucket of warm water with a soft-to-medium bristle brush. Takes it right off.

A quart of gasoline is overkill. A pint is plenty. That being said I use Simple Green.

If the wax has dried, a tooth brush will get a lot of it. I like the dishwashing soap suggestion. You'll want to apply Raggtop's or the like after you rid the top of wax.

Masking tape is necessity the next time you wax...

He was using an electric buffet do I don't think making tape is an option. When I do mine every 18 mo's or so I either put the top down or put an old bed sheet between the to and the car then fold it up to cover the top where I'm working. I learned from the same mistake as you just did.

Someone mentored "Raggtop", I'm a proponent of 303 top pursuant myself live that stuff! Got mine on Amazon

I too am a big fan of 303 Aerospace Fabric Guard. It is a high-quality product and I apply the product with a high quality 1 2/1 to 2" paint brush.

Using the paint brush method, eliminates overspray unto the any of the paint surface.
