WD-40 a miracle cleaner for hazy window trim?
I use WD-40 for every road grime splotch on my cars. It is truly amazing. On a whim, I sprayed some on a clean rag and rubbed down my XK's window trim, which is looking cloudy and matted. Incredible results: the trim now sparkles like new. (And the black grime left on the rag - presumably the oxidized aluminum - was astounding.)
Does anyone know if this is safe for the aluminum? I wiped it a second time to remove the residue, in case leaving any trace of the WD-40 would react and damage the aluminum. Regardless, I strongly recommend that folks give it a go. WD-40... is there anything it can't do??

WD40 is essentially just a mild solvent. I love the stuff. 1001 uses. I keep it in the car, the garage, the garden shed, the kitchen. I use it for almost everything...except as a lubricant :-)
I can't imagine it hurting aluminum, as I've never known know it to hurt *anything*, but others might chime in.
Some folks say it's the worst thing in the world. <shrug>
Cheers
