Then it might also come down to general crappiness of gas station compressors - both being prone to overinflating and introducing humidity.
Result is still well worth the 60 pln (~$16) 😄

Those compressors are a great lottery in Poland, you never know if they work fine or will they deflate your tyre further than it is. Gas stations don't care because they're free to use. That's why I stuck with one station I knew the compressor is functional but after that the search continues.

Just finishing up the installation of a GAHH convertible top on the car. I've had worse jobs and its not overly complicated, just patience and clean hands seals the deal.
One frustrating part is the lack of 5/32 or 4mm rivets of any oind in any of the big box stores, especially ones that have the necessary grip length.
It's certainly nice knowing I have saved $1500-$2000, possibly more.
Am I happy with the result? You bet!

It is worth noting that I was not prepared for how tight the new top was, it has taken a week for it to stretch into the correct position.
I am also certain that the car is quieter, I took it for the 65mpg "whistle" test and no noise at all. Perhaps a slightly thicker sound deadening.

I got the same top a couple of years ago…your install looks great! When I got mine I was advised to keep it up for a week so it could stretch out…

It's been stretching for about a week already and i think it's about where it needs to be.
One thing i noticed and it happened purely by chance is that if you momentarily press the hood open button the 2 quarter windows open. i see a lot of comments from people wanting to be able to open them and apparently this is the way to do it. Just to be clear i have not installed any aftermarket kit.

Hold it a bit longer and the front two windows also go down, although you can do that manually regardless. That's when you DON'T have Steve's top kit as that is a one-touch control mod.
The tricky part is RAISING the quarter windows with the top DOWN. Steve fixed that problem.

I took her to the local european car show, which was fantastic of course.... did not show, just wanted to see the other cars.
then got home and noticed someone nicked the jaguar growler badge off the front of her.
I am very displeased and now not sure I can get the same one again, so I guess I'm looking at options.
****ers.

I want to beat them with a tire iron right now.

Thanks I did see that one and I was thrown off yesterday by the fact that the pair of plastic guide posts on the back of it are horizontal whereas the holes on my car are vertical, if you cut them off it has less support and I was trying to figure out do I need to get a specific badge made for the XK, not in XF and not an f type etc?
I figured that out. On the YouTube channel for Life on cars with Paul he showed this and basically what I'd be doing is drilling two more holes laterally so that those posts can go into them. That seems to indicate that the badge attach design varies between Jaguar models. You also have to make sure you get the right size it looks like for XK's it's ~86 mm, they're smaller on some of the other jags.
It's a new day I'm a little more positive I'm now trying to figure out do I want black and silver or should I put red. Thanks guys for the emotional support. It really is a small minor first-world problem I know.

Sold the XK. It was time as she had been sitting in a friends off site garage for almost a year waiting for my barn to be built. It was a sad day but the new owners drove her back to PA from FL without a hitch. Now im down to 3 Range Rovers, an 05 750Li and an Alpina B7.

The XK150 is such a great auto.

Someone had mine nicked. I got one that the pins didn’t align, I cut them off and use gorilla tape. Been on the car for a year in the heat of the Middle East no problem.

"... Assembled a new SDD workstation."

Is that an H/P Spectre? If so, what version of Windows is it running? I had read that SDD doesn't like anything over Windows 7. I have a Sceptre I want to dedicate solely to SDD, but it's running Windows 10.
Nice set-up...!!!

Tracee, my workstation laptop is an older HP Pavilion (15-cs0058od) with 16GB of RAM running Windows 11 Home. I am running SDD v130 on Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) within an Oracle VirtualBox app. VirtualBox allows me to run multiple operating systems on a single device. You could do the same to run whatever operating system and SDD combination you desire.

In my case, once I installed VirtualBox on my PC, I was able to create a Windows XP virtual machine from a Google Drive download (.ova file, or Oracle VirtualBox Appliance) which also included SDD v130 (provided by TheMindBuddah). I provide more information about this and the link in my earlier post, “Activation and Installation of Rear Park Assist Camera in 2009 Jaguar XKR”. TheMindBuddah had several different versions of SDD available but I chose v130 so I could use SDD offline without a subscription. It has all as-built and configuration files through model-year 2012 vehicles so it should work for your 2010 XK Portfolio. I originally had this same setup on my home-office laptop but recently duplicated the setup on this older HP so it could be dedicated to my new workstation in the garage.
