I was out yesterday for a golf outing 30 miles from home. All parkway driving and had the top down at 52*F . Great ride and golf game. Still got convert. weather here until the snow falls. We'll be cruising until the 1st snow which hopefully will be maybe into January. I usually keep it on the lift after the sand/salt hit the roads and take it out when it's washed away. Usually doesn't sit for more then 2 months. Enjoy the drive.

I used to live in NY. This time of year was spectacular for golf. We used to play a course called Apple Greens, which was built in an old apple orchard. There were plenty of apple trees all over the course, and this time of year we would eat apples right off the tree as we were playing golf. Beautiful weather, beautiful view of the Shawangunk mountains, and fresh apple off the tree while enjoying a round of golf. Didn't get much better than that, except I didn't have my Jag back then.

We have a tee time there tomorrow morning. The course is usually in great condition even with all of the rain we've had. Just another ragtop day.

Oooh it's turned into a golfing thread!? I played off 12 as a senior at 13 but then discovered life (and girls) and wondered why the heck I was hitting that little ball and running after it (no golf carts over here in the 70's).

A couple of small things for me on my XK

1) Some carbon effect air caps with leapers £6
2) my icarsoft arrived! £96...you know what those look like!

Replaced my battery. Car was dead as a doornail this morning. Battery was reading 5.8 volts. It was about time, it's a 2010 after all. Also I was given a mild shock... by the price of a new AGM battery! Those things aren't cheap. But it was a fun little project and hopefully it'll cure some little peccadilloes that have been cropping up.

Weird I went to see 6 x 2012-2015 XK's here in the UK and made a point of checking all of the batteries, not a single one was an AGM, so surmise it must be more of an American thang!?

Upgrades today for mere £6 was new LED lights, I gave the sunvisor courtesy lights a miss as don't ever remember using them in 36yrs of driving...could just be am pretty enough!

Roof lights done
footwell lights done
trunk/boot lights done
glovebox light done

Did have to use needlenose pliers to close up the long festoon bulb holder in the roof console but works fine....total time was 15 mins

Also ordered some luggage, this will be the interior lining

Above is the wheel recess luggage, natch mine will have red stitching but the interior of the first pic

All will be quilted with red stitching and comprises of

1) three rear seat leather quilted bags, the centre one will be a cool bag
2) Suit carrier non leather
3) above battery storage bags leather
4) 4 x boot bags leather
5) 2 x wheel arch bags leather

Mine will all have 'Dynamic R' as opposed to the leaper or growler

Here's the pic of the rear seat luggage set off Rob's vert from another forum:

You really ought to upgrade the puddle lights under the side mirrors as well. Those were the main ones that I found mismatched with the LED headlamps when unlocking remotely. Luggage looks great!

Agreed, I looked at doing those but light was fading and I couldn't figure out how to get to them....looked through the 'stickies' and came up with nada...in fact there wasn't anything for the roof console either but figured it was so easy no one took the time to document.

Am going to guess they are normal W5/501 bulbs in there?

There is info in these two threads on how to get the puddle lights off.

These bulbs spec'd by 10XKR are what you want:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LCKHOFU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LCKHOFU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tried a different LED bulb previously that wasn't frosted and had a refractory effect through the plastic lens in the mirror cover. The frosted bulbs are much better.

Thanks Simon, weird that the mirror puddle lamps are festoon types, as I'd not think there was the room to fit one...also as a 2014 some of the headlight LED advice wouldn't apply as already have LED's there.

In truth in the month I've had my car, I've not really had the time to walk around my car at night with the lights on to look for any non-white lights

Mina Springs installed
Mina Gallery springs installed!

Thanks Steve_k_xk for the rear strut installation tip!!

I also had the OEM wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sport Race tires (305/30/20 on rear).

Autoflex wrap wrapped the front grills.. I also did the chrome around the window trim, but I decided it made the car too dark.

In addition, I had the factory Oronas powder coated in a White/Silver. I have always loved bright bright silver wheels. This color turned out a little more whitish than I expected.. but I think it really sets the car apart from the others.

Weird that on my white car I needed more black to give it contrast

Quote: Followed 10XKR's lead and installed the optional hood louvers Jag offered as an upgrade. Gotta say they are a very nice touch. Went to a Brit/Euro car show over the weekend, and I'd say these definitely give the Jag a more premium look along the lines of what I saw on some of the Aston Martins.

Aircon recharge for me and found no lubricant in system and overfilled to 800g previously, I'll have to assume this was either a jaguar or DIY mistake, cost was £40/$52

Oh yes and photoshoot for car with new brakes fitted done

From the Jaguar Accessories brochure:

Bonnet Louvres with Chrome Strake
Stunning body coloured louvres with black mesh and styled Chrome
inserts add further emphasis to one of the XKR’s most distinctive
styling features. Available on XKR and XKR–S only.
C2P20035XXX £220.00

It looks like they are around £180 now although a lot of places show them as not in stock.
