Default What works and what doesn't , cell phones

I must admit since retiring some 7 years ago I have stopped being a technology grunt. My cell phone of choice is my Samsung flip phone on a Verizon network. So what I have been seeing is a lot of questions on what phones and features work and don't work but no thread or sticky with all of the info in it. Car BT technology has continued to improve but cell phones improve at leaps and bounds. With cars dating back to 2006 it seems some of the newer phones have different functions on them. Maybe we should post our phone make/model and list what functions with our cars. Jaguar USA has their list but it doesn't provide visibility to lets say iphone 6+ to a 2006 XK. Just thinking out loud here so if anyone wants to join in be my guest.

On my 12 xk vert I use a Samsung Galaxy 4 on ATT Model nr SGH-1337. Everything works as it should. One warning; the xk bluetooth system has an entry number limitation. The capacity is 500 entries. If you exceed that the phonebook gets truncated.

I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 that works fine with all 3 of my Jags. '12XJL, '12XF and '10XKR. With my 2 years contract coming up next month I plan on getting the Galaxy Note 4. Hope it will work with my cars, as well.

The Note 3 works fine though I had to fiddle with it a bit before it did. I've also paired iPhones 3, 4, and 5 to my Jags previously.

Picked up a Samsung Note 4. It works great in all of my cars. No problems so far.

Where is the microphone in my 07 XK coupe? When my phone (Droid Charge, a.k.a., Galaxy S) connects to the in-car Bluetooth (I have my phone in a windshield mount) and I get a call, my caller has a hard time hearing me, as if I'm using the phone's microphone waaaaay over there and not something closer.

TIA

I have a moto x gen 2 with my 07 and works fine except contacts don't work. Numbers display fine but not in any order and funky characters for names. Only single letters show up for names like a, a', u, u' etc. Sucks, but then again I really prefer not to call people while I'm driving.

Big, on my 07 vert the mics are in the upper console above the mirror. They are about 3/8' dia. holes with louvers. Believe there is on each side. Not sure about coupe.

The microphone is actually behind the A pillar trim.

There was a TSB issued because of audibility issues for VIN range B00379-B20074 with instructions on moving it so that it was just poking out above the trim piece.

I have a blackberry and it works fine on my 2006 XJ, but I can't get it to work with my 2007 XK. I think there might be an upgrade to the electronics system that I'm going to ask about at the local dealers tomorrow.
