I had my battery replaced today and noticed this cable dangling. I asked the tech about where it had come out of and they said it was like that when it got here. Any ideas if it should be plugged in, and to where? I did inherit some kind of ipod -> FM transmitter, in case that's related to this. Also, antenna does not go up and down.

The vehicle has a BITR (Battery Isolation Transit Relay) fitted at the factory to prevent discharge during transit and storage. This is removed during PDI at the supplying dealership. I don't have the PDI manual for the XK but here is the relevant extract from the earlier model:
A regular question across our model forums as inquisitive owners find the unattached lead!
I'd be asking questions about any Jaguar "tech" who wasn't aware of this.
And regarding your non-operative antenna, check the fuse. Owners of 2007 models sometimes removed that fuse precisely to prevent the antenna rising becaus they thought it was too antiquated-looking. I have no problem with electric aerials so the fuse was never touched in my car.

Funny. @sov211 , I feel the same way. There are some retro things that are so ugly that they are just cool.

I have had lots of Jags with electric aerials...and I rather liked watching them extend (yes, there is probably something to be analyzed in that) but the aerials were always perfectly vertical. I do have to say
that I constantly felt that the 07 XK aerial was rather oddly canted towards the rear and I had the urge to push it to a correct position!
