Default Wheel Centres

Just, today, joined the forum so this is my first post.
I've acquired in the last couple of weeks a lovely 5 litre XK (2009) convertible in black. Not yet on the road as we are away in the antipodes for some time shortly.
The wheel centres are looking very pitted and I'd like to replace them. Fortunately the seller refurbished all the wheels so they look fine.
Is there anyone in the UK who can supply the centres other than the Jag dealers?

Ive discovered that the aftermarket ones "rattle" and lose their finish faster.

Hi
i similarly bought an xk convertible in January and the wheel centres were again pretty poor despite the wheels being ok.
I chose genuine ones in red from the seller woodacre4x4 on eBay for £48, no need to go to a dealership, and free postage.
All good and very pleased with them.

No need to restrict your search to X150 as all modern Jags use the same size and design wheel centre caps, just search for "Jaguar wheel centre caps".
Plenty of cheapo Chinese ones but as noted they are poor quality plastic and fit rather loosely, genuine JLR are much better and fit nice and tight but also not cheap.

Thank you Dave.
I assume that they are acceptable and you've not had the same problem as Guy?

I had no problems with my centre caps, I purchased the silver union jack designed ones.

(I forgot to say congratulations in response to your first post).
More generally it seems like we are on some kind of parallel life track. We fly to Sydney ( via a few days stop in Singapore) this Saturday. Enjoy your own trip and spruced-up convertible XK on your return too

Many Thanks.
If you've not been to Singapore before then do check out The Jewel which is part of the Airport complex and, of course, try a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar at Raffles.
We are on a cruise around NZ and then a week in Sydney near the Opera House.
Have a great time.
Rob

Red wheel centres have arrived but no time to fit them yet so will do on my return.
I may then try and share photos

Yes this is true, But they are very cheap, so you can buy a new set every 3 years or so.

I bought some inexpensive wheel centers from an Fleabay seller. US seller, but most certainly Chinese made centers. The fit loosely and would freely spin around. I'm sure they would eventually fall out. When I contacted the seller, he said just put some tape around the inside lip. LOL. I said that's not a solution I care to try and sent them back for a refund and bought factory centers. Worth the price.

and just to confuse the issue:
I bough some from ebay seller, they were loose, I taped and after several years they failed. Bought more and they fit tight, bought more and they fit loose, bough more and they fit tight. ( all from same vendor, used on two Jaguars, same imprinted jaguar image 'quality')
I concluded that it is hit or miss on the quality.

That's good (and interesting) to know. Maybe next time I'll just buy the cheap reproduction centers and tape them.

If you know anyone that has a 3D printer, I found this post on Thingyverse which claims to solve this issue...
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3549286

I haven't tried the print yet (plan to this weekend) so I can't vouch for it, but it's relatively simple, so I expect it will work. Also, the print is super simple compared to most 3D print jobs.

I was able to get these printed on the 3D printer this weekend. They work great. Perfect fit and the lose wheel caps are no longer lose at all.

Beware of eBay vendors who claim to sell genuine OEM Jaguar center caps in sealed genuine Jaguar factory packaging with the correct part number. Not only is the center cap fake, so is the plastic packaging.

But they look great on your car while you're wearing your new Rolex!
