whining noise

Default whining noise
Could someone tell me what the whining noise is that comes from the front of the car (07 xkr) when swithched off, towards front of engine. Even on first starting, when idle for a few minutes when i turn of, it whines down for a few seconds, is this the supercharger. Anything i should worry about.

The SC is driven by the engine so it starts and stops with the engine.
