I see many F Paces that are white in the wild. But, I have only seen one XKR and it was an offwhite/creme color which was a beauty! I'm having trouble telling the difference between the three whites. I don't care for the flat/dull colors ~ prefer a little sparkle. Has anyone seen any of the whites and/or have pics?
Completely irrelevant - but my first "Jag" was white. It was a 1976 Daimler Double Six Coupe, in "Old English White". It was slightly cream in tone and was a gorgeous colour. The interior was the darkest shade of blue.
^^^^ What a beauty Do you have any pics ~ would love to see that combination!
I don't have a picture of it any more; I owned that car in the days before digital cameras and I've lost the pictures I had from those days. I found a public image of one but for some reason I can't upload it.
I have to agree that Im partial to the right white.
Sparkle isnt the important criteria. Its the shade. I find a few shades of winter white quite luxurious. Unfortunately, Ive only seen the version I prefer, on an RR. without a metallic flake.
Im not a fan of white, but thats the only color my wife wants. Her previous Acura was sort of a flat white, while the current Mazda is called white perl IIRC, and has more depth.
I am reminded of a conversation I once had with a salesman from a Ford dealership about Best Selling Car Colors.
He was describing how most of dealership sales were of either white or silver/gray cars and that it seemed to be highly desired.
I told him to turn around and look at the entire lot of Dealer-owned new cars... a full 90% of ALL the vehicles listed for sale were white or silver/gray... so I asked him "Do they have a choice???"

Agree 100%
Some people just have no imagination. Others, due to cultural upbringing (conform, blend in, dont stand out) are drawn to those colors (I suppose if 90% of the cars on the road were pink, theyd want a pink car too).
Karen,
I think white is one of the prettiest colors on an XK/XKR. They look really stunning in white, imho.
My '58 XK150 DHC was white (more of an old English white actually) with red interior . It was gorgeous.
White is usually not on my radar. There are usually so many more striking colours that I don't think I would ever pick white if I was speccing a new car. And like black, grey and silver, its also now too common! My white one came up locally and was otherwise in great condition and very well specced so I ended up with it. By far the most common alternative was black, which I really did not want. There were very few other colour choices and then they usually had odd interior colours! The white has grown on me and yes, I agree now that the XK150 does look particularly good in white, even if like me, you are a little biased against it.

Reminds me of the Supra Turbo that the now ex got me ~ White Pearl Mica over the deepest royal blue with gold custom wheels, MT! Loved driving that car
